3/1/13 - March Trails Closure to Riding at the Fells in Effect
It's March! How did that happen? Please remember that the Fells is closed to riding from 3/1 - 3/31 as the trails are likely to be very soft as they thaw out - particularly as the snow pack melts and the days start warming up. If things melt quickly and the trails dry out early, it is possible that DCR can lift the March ban early (as they did last year.)
We ask that everyone respect the trails closure for riding and allow the trails to get in good shape for April!
Further, we strongly encourage all trail users (hikers, walkers, runnners, dog owners) to stay off soft trails as feet cause as much damage to soft trails as tires. Thanks everyone for helping keep the trails in good shape!
