Come join the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Greater Boston Chapter of NEMBA in celebrating the 2012 International Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at the Middlesex Fells.
The event will open at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 6th, 2012 and there will be lead group rides at an easy pace starting at 9:30am, 10:30am and 11:30am. At 12:30pm we will break for lunch off the grill courtesy of CycleLoft. After liunch we will be doing a raffle (all registered kids get tickets - no purchase required) for donated prizes from area bike shops.
There will also be mtb skills activities at the registration area and bike-themed art actvities as well as water, juice and snacks!
The rides will be lead by NEMBA Ride Guides and the NEMBA Mountain Bike Patrol will be staffing and riding along as well. The rides are recommended for ages 8 and up and children will need to be able to ride without training wheels. Parents are welcome to ride along! Helmets required! This is a free event and open to all. NEMBA membership is not required.
