In addition to the three main destination parks (Middlesex Fells, Lynn Woods, Great Brook Farm) in the Greater Boston area, there are a number of smaller properties that NEMBA is involved with.  Most of these properties are too small to be considered destinations and they do not have the carrying capacity to support a large number of users.

It is very important that all users understand the issues in the areas they ride and it is also important that we share with our members information about what advocacy activities we are involved with.  The following links provide some background information on these properties.  These properties are all open to cyclists but excessive use could strain the resources and the relationships that riders have with the bodies that manage these properties.  For this reason we do not advertise these areas as riding locations but we will continue to advocate on behalf of our members for the continued use of these areas.  We ask for everybody to be extremely respectful of how they use these trails.  For many local riders these are the only places they can access during the week so loss of their privilage to use these trails would be devistating to some.

NEMBA has a very differant role and relationship with the management of conservation areas.  Rather then have a direct presence we prefer to offer support and assistance to individuals who get involved as local stewards.  If there is a property near you and you would like to get involved, NEMBA can help you to find out who to talk to.  We can help you by providing training and a network of volunteer labor.  If you are interested in helping out and do not know who to call contact us at 1-800-57-NEMBA.
