MAY CHAPTER MEETING

Our Next Meeting is on Sunday, MAY 11th

When: 5:00pm sharp!

Where: Belmont

UPDATE:

Please join us this coming Sunday afternoon and evening - 5/11/08 from 5:00-7:00pm for a ride in Belmont and then 7:00-9:00pm for our monthly Chapter meeting.

For this meeting, we will be meeting in Belmont in a member's private home, but all current and prospective members are invited to attend. The address is:
311 Cross Street, Belmont

We will meet at 5:00pm sharp and ride at 5:15pm sharp.
There will be 2 ride levels (one quick and one mellow) and will include a 1.5 mile road ride to the woods.

If you cannot make the ride, please join us for the BBQ and meeting.

Note: Going forward, our monthly Chapter Meetings have been changed to the Second Sunday of each month (unless it is a holiday) and open to all NEMBA members and invited guests.

Trail Maintenance Day 2 at Middlesex Fells
 

When: Sunday, May 4th, 2008 -  8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Rain Date: None

Where: Middlesex Fells, MA

Project Location: NEMBA MTB Loop - Meet at Gate 19, located at the south end of North Border Road in Winchester, MA.

Work Description: This maintenance day will focus on the single track trails in the North West corner of North Reservoir.  There are several steep grades that require maintenance to control erosion and also some wet sections that require drainage work.  No experience is necessary.  Trained Trail Crew Leaders will be on hand to guide volunteers through the steps necessary to get the job done.  Dress appropriately for manual labor.  Long pants, gloves and water bottles are suggested.  Please meet promptly at 8:30am because we will be hiking in a very short distance to the work area.  We will provide lunch after the event for all volunteers (Please contact me if you have any special dietary concerns).  NEMBA will lead a ride after the event.  New comers are we welcome.  Bring a helmet and functioning bicycle to participate in the ride.

Driving Directions: North Border Road, Winchester.

Project Resources Required: 2-4 Certified Trail Crew Leaders and 12-16 volunteers.

DCR Supervision: Not required

Issue/Purpose of work: Regular maintenance of chronic problem spots on the MTB loop.

Lunch will be provided. Ride after.
